Is a Water Shortage in Our Future?
Like the post? Add Your Comments | Digg This Post! |Everyone likes a scary story. But only when it's fiction. This may not be.
Modern people take some of the simplest necessities for granted. Needs don't get much simpler than clean water. You turn on your kitchen or bathroom faucet, and out it comes. We do it every day without blinking an eye or even stopping to think about it much. But what if that water was to get contaminated?
Have you ever thought about where it comes from? Or how far it travels and what it's traveling through? Those miles and miles of pipes may be susceptible to something very simple.
It's time for a little paranoia.

I'm always amazed with people who wonder what to do on a day off! Things always FIND me! When do these people pay bills, wash clothes, vacuum, dust, cook, and run errands??! Once the work is done, and I'm organized again, it is then that I have recreational time and can enjoy it.

Look, when you're staring at the mirror and say bad things to your self all you do is lower your self-esteem.Next time you look at the mirror try to find something you like about your self and whenever you say something bad ,replace it with 3 things you like about you, trust me it will help.If you really wanna loose weigh all you gotta do is eat healthy, bye bye sugars(unless it's fruits),flour, fryed things, and butter, eat more vegetables and healthy stuff,oh and drink lots and lots of water, sometimes you my confuse thirst with hunger so drink a glass of water everytime you think you're hungry;chewing gum might help you to not be hungry but that's only good if you're going someplace you can't eat,and if you're going to chew gum ,make sure it doesn't have sugar,it's bad for your teeth. It doesn't mean you have to leave them forever, pick one day when for 1 hour you can eat all you want and remember good excercise is also very important,do it at least 3 times a week..It will help a lot.Everytime you give yourself a bad compliment you are stressing yourself about something that isn't really that important and you can loose fast if you do what I tell you,and it's not a diet,it's a lifestyle...I'v lost a lot of weight with it and I feel good about myself and it's not hard at all.

Prostate Cancer Treatment Has Side Effect
Like the post? Add Your Comments | Digg This Post! |Many men are too macho to make regular visits to their doctor. The fact that this may be more a sign of fear than machismo is beside the point. Guys, get over it and schedule regular physicals, especially if you're over 40. Cancer is always a concern. But, if you won't think with your big head... consider this horrible side effect of prostate cancer.
Oh. Hi. OH! Clevelanders Up In Arms Over Water Treatment
Like the post? Add Your Comments | Digg This Post! |"Well I love that dirty water; Oh, Boston, you're my home." So the line goes in the '60s hit "Dirty Water" by The Standells. And, while Cleveland has the Browns as their NFL football team, that doesn't mean it's indicative of the quality of local water. Trendy upscale bottled water company Fiji poked fun at the home of Drew Carey and the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, and the natives are restless.
Massachusetts Next To BanTrans Fat?
Like the post? Add Your Comments | Digg This Post! |As New York goes, so goes Massachusetts!
New York City did it. Now, the trans fat rebellion is moving north. This time around the revolutionaries will be dumping something else into the Boston Harbor. Here's a comment from eDiets' Chief Nutritionist Susan Burke:
When New York City passed trans fat-free regulations last year, eDiets applauded. Michael Bloomberg for president! New York's Department of Health drew a line in the sand and said that all restaurants would have to eliminate trans fat-laden hydrogenated fat from their cooking oil, a good move for consumers. Hydrogenated fats originally became popular because they're more stable than unhydrogenated oils, an inexpensive alternative for restaurants and food manufacturers. But, scientists have shown that like saturated fat, trans fat increases 'bad' LDL cholesterol. But unlike saturated fat, trans fat also lowers 'good' HDL cholesterol, a 'double whammy' increasing risk for heart disease.
Massachusetts takes a mighty step toward good health for its citizens by proposing a state-wide ban. Taking the first step, as one state in 50, we applaud their commitment to health. After all, Denmark banned all trans fat years ago, and sales of fried fast food continues as briskly as before the shortening ban. Other countries are taking steps to protect citizen's health: Canada is considering a total ban of trans fat; the European Union is debating legislative action too.
The Democrats are in control of Congress, and Nancy Pelosi has banned cigarette smoking from inside the House lobby. Perhaps we're entering an age of science and technology: we know what's killing us--let's help consumers stay healthy by prohibiting known poisons: yes...promote and support healthy behaviors. Oh, and don't forget: Just because it says "trans fat-free" doesn't mean it's calorie-free. Switching to trans fat-free oils is a positive step, but fried food is high in fat calories, so choose baked, grilled or broiled instead; leave the mayo and butter off the bun; increase your veggies and fruit; read the nutrition facts and ingredient labels!
Think Positive, Or Else!
