Summer is a time to break out the short shorts, skirts and bikinis. With all of the body-baring the season brings, shaving can be a dreadful daily chore.

One of the most annoying things about shaving is razor bumps and ingrown hairs. Who has time to deal with red, irritating unsightly bumps? Thankfully, we've got some simple solutions for a smooth, silky bump-free shave:

1. Always start with a fresh, clean blade. Blunt blades will leave you with a painful and less-effective shave.

Pssst…want to know how you can get a super-moisturized shave for FREE?! For a chance to win a FREE Schick Quattro razor, simply click here.*

2. Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! Try using a gentle loofah to remove dead skin cells to prevent annoying red bumps and ingrown hairs.

3. Try to stay out of salt water, chlorine and the sun -- they can irritate just-shaved skin.

4. Spa brand fix: Try Bliss Ingrown Hair Eliminating Peeling Pads ($35). They have a hydroxy-acid solution that helps battle bumps and redness.

5. Drugstore fix: For cheaper, bump-soothing help, look for Bikini Zone 2% with Lidocaine ($7.99).

Do you have your own solutions for those blasted bumps? Have you tried any of these up here? Help us girls out and share!

I USE HAIR CONDITIONER ON MY BIKINI AREA AFTER I SHAVE, I LEAVE IT ON, WHILE I WASH MY HAIR, AND IT LEAVES ME NICE AND SMOOTH, NO RED BUMPS!

Those new quattro razors work great on the bikini area. I don't like them for my legs but since I started using them for my bikini line, I haven't had any bumps or ingrown hairs at all.

Rather than using expensive shave creams just apply an inexpensive cream rinse to your legs then shave as usual.... You will be amazed you really don't even have to moisturize after unless you want to.

There's also a product called Bump Stopper found in the men's section, where you'd also find shaving cream and blades. I've turned on all my female friends to it, amnd find it works like a charm!!!

I used to have a lot of problems until I starting shaving with aloe vera gel...just use the cheap store brand... and I make sure I use a good razor that's sharp. It's worked well for me.
