Those carefree days of summer spent chasing the ice cream man are gone. As a matter of fact, since gas prices climbed to over $4 a gallon, I don't think I've seen or heard Mr. Softee around my neighborhood.
But it's probably for the best, since most of those frozen treats were packed with empty calories and loaded with excess sugar. Being a grown up isn't very fun… or is it?
You don't have to throw your healthy eating out the window to enjoy a simple summer treat, just know what you can eat! So, step right up to the eDiets ice cream truck to pick from a list of diet-friendly frozen treats that you can eat without feeling guilty -- they all are less than 100 calories!
(Most can be found in your grocer's freezer section, but feel free to hum the carnival music as you purchase them for the full effect.)

If you'll forgive the 1 calorie, Luzerne Root Beer Float Bars come in at 100 calories even, with 13 grams of sugar. and sastify the need for a creamy cold treat.

Blue Bunny has some awesome pomegranate fruit bars with bits of black cherry that are under 100 calories each and they are full size bars!! Yummmm...
People who need to should be reading labels anyway and not relying on blogs to tell them content of what they shove in their face, no?!!

Obviously complaining that they wait until Labor Day proves you know nothing about the Southern states. Those of us in Texas eat ice cream year round. SOME people thank you for posting low calorie ice cream treats whenever you want.

There are these great new popsicles at my local coop. They're called frosteas and frostbites. They are all natural, sweetened only with honey. I love them and so do the kids. The best part? Only like 40 calories.

I can't believe "Skinny Cow" was left out of this equation!!! Not only are these ice creams low in calories, sugar and fat but they taste awesome!!! Their fudge bars are the best; my boyfriend loves them so much he won't even look at regular ice cream now! Also, Weight Watchers has some delicious frozen treats that really are so good!
