Can someone say WHAT???? Kids these days need morals, and it says in the BIBLE..spare the rod ..spoil the child. Sounds like government is messing with religion again??

Spanking is Biblical, so how do you put your hand on the Bible and swear to tell the truth on it and then say it's against the law to do what it says? Also, I've seen questions on where are all these bad kids coming from and truth of the matter is, back in the day children were disciplined (spanked) and now parents can go to jail for it. My daughter has threatened to call the police on me for spanking her. A spanking for her consists of 3 licks on the bottom, so I handed her the phone. I just think this gives kids encouragement to do wrong because they know they can't be spanked for it.

God is not concerned about our opinion, He said obedience is better then sacrifice. He also said spare the rod, spoil the child. A friend of mine broke down that scripture to a certain extent and told me, if something is spoil it smells rotten, so i assume how ever you raise your children is what your child will to be. If you want a rotten child no one will want to be around something that portrays a rotten spirit. If anyone knows how to raise children you can be for sure God does, but man has always rebelled against the very God that created him that's why Jesus had to die in our place. America is a nation that is slowly falling and it will continue to fall because there rebellion against the very God that helped them raise america. As we continue to listen to america laws anything and everything that represents are is pertaining to the word of God they discard it, that should tell us a lot about the nation we live in. But in the bible there's a price to pay when you reject God, America needs to wake up.

I FEEL SOME PEOPLE NEED GUIDE LINES ON WHAT IS ABUSE AND WHAT IS SPANKING. I DO NOT FEEL THAT THEY NEED TO GET INTO MAKING LAW PROHIBITIATNG YOU FROM SPANKING YOUR CHILD.

I am a mother of 4 and I believe this world has lost control of so much, becuase of the goverment. The prayer out of the schools, pledge out of the schools, and so forth. I am 33 and my generation really had it good compared today. Now the kids are treated like prisoners in school and it is making them wilder and in to drugs. Parents are losing control of what they have a right to do or say. What did our for fathers fight and die for? free speech and free will. WE need to rememebr where we came from, our parents and we who was loved and spanked for the wrong doings turned out great, but those who ran wild; are now either dead, in jail or so forth.

It is stated that spanking a child more than three times is considered abuse. You can never use a closed fist. But if you use an open hand and it is less than three times it is not considered abuse. These are guidelines for child abuse.
However,in my opinion, for any child under three, you should never hit them. I have a 20-month and she sure has tried by patience, but I stick with a firm voice and time out.

i HAVE THREE BOYS MY FIRST SON WAS SPANKED FOR REALLY BAD THINGS--RUNNING IN FRONT OF CARS,PLAYING WITH KNIVES ETC...STARTING AT AGE 2--HE IS 21 YRS OLD NOW AND IS A WONDERFUL SON/PERSON WHO IS VERY CONSIDERATE AND RESPECTFUL,FUN LOVING HE IS GREAT.HOWEVER MY SECOND CHILD WHEN HE WAS 2(THE BOYS ARE THREE YEARS APART)MY MOTHER-IN -LAW WAS AGAINST SPANKING EVENTHOUGH SHE SPANKED HER KIDS.WHEN MY SECOND CHILD WAS A LITTLE OVER 2 HE STOLE A LIGHTER FROM THE BABYSITTERS HOUSE AND LIT HIS BROTHERS BED ON FIRE WHILE HE WAS SLEEPING--HIS PUNISHMENT ALWAYS WENT ALONG WITH THE PARENTING CLASSES TO PUT THEM IN A CORNER--HE IS NOW 18 AND IS DISRESPECTFUL,INCONSIDERATE AND VERY VIOLENT IN AND OUT OF THE COURT SYSTEMS--CAUSE HE FEELS THAT AUTHORITY IS A JOKE AND THE GOVERNMENT CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO STOP HIS BEHAVIOR --THIS IS THE RESULTS OF A CHILD NOT HAVING BEEN SPANKED--HE ATTACKS PARENTS,THE ELDERLY AND THE YOUNG AND LAUGHS ABOUT IT.IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME AND TELL THE WORLD TO KEEP THEIR POMPUS IDEALS TO THEMSELVES--IF YOU DO NOT HAVE KIDS THEN SHUT THE HELL UP--YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE A SAY--TO MOST PEEPS I'M KNOWN AS THE SPAWN OF HELL!!! BACK IN THE DAY THERE WERE NO KILLINGS IN SCHOOL-STORES-YOU COULD WALK THE STREETS SAFELY PEOPLE WERE NOT KILLING EACH OTHER--IF MY MOM HAD TOLD PEOPLE TO SHUTUP WHEN SHE WAS TOLD SPANKING WAS WRONG WHEN I WAS 2 THEN I WOULD BE A BETTER PERSON TODAY.
THE FACT IS THAT THE LEARNING YEARS ARE FROM THE AGE OF 2-6 YEARS OLD AND IF PEOPLE WOULD MIND THERE OWN BUSINESS AND LET PARENTS RAISE THERE CHILDREN LIKE THEY HAVE DONE SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME--THEN I WOULD HAVE LEARNED RIGHT FROM WRONG HEY HERE IS A THOUGHT--IF WE RUN THE GOVERNMENT THE WAY YOU FEEL KIDS SHOULD BE DISCIPLINED BY NOT SPANKING AND JUST SENDING THEM TO A CORNER OR CHAIR FOR TIME OUT----INSTEAD OF SENDING TROOPS TO IRAQ WE SHOULD HAVE JUST SENT THEM TO THE CORNER FOR TIME OUT-- SPANKING SHOULD BE ALLOWED--IT LETS THE CHILD KNOW THAT THEY HAVE PASSED THE LINE OF GOOD /PROPER BEHAVIOR AND THERE ARE CONSEQUENCES--I NEVER LEARNED THAT AND NOW ITS WAY TOO LATE --I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR ANYONE OR ANYTHING--FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T CREATE ANOTHER ME!!!

"SPARE THE ROD, SPOIL THE CHILD" THAT'S WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS.IN MY OWN OPINION THAT'S WHAT'S WRONG WITH SO MANY CHILDREN TODAY. THEY GET AWAY WITH TOO MUCH. THE GOVERNMENT HAS MOST PARENTS AFRAID TO DISCIPLINE THEIR CHILDRN THE WAY THEY NEED IT. MY PARENTS HAD NO PROBLEM SPANKING US AT HOME OR IN PUBLIC. I AM THE SAME WAY. IF MY SON DOES SOMETHING WRONG HE IS GOING TO GET A SPANKING WHERE HE STANDS BECAUSE HE KNOWS RIGHT FROM WRONG. I DEFINATLY DO NOT BELIEVE THAT SPANKING SHOULD BE ILLEAGAL.
